2025 Hsi Lai Temple & Stanford CHIPAO - Parenting Workshop
Come join us for a Saturday afternoon for parenting workshop to learn practical parenting skills. This workshop is led by a group of psychiatrists who came up with a set of commonly occurring problems in families with children and teens, tailored to Asian-American families.
Workshop activities will include short lectures, surveys, role-playing of problematic interactions, open discussion, and improved interactions.
Our Learning Objectives Are:
- For parents with children. teens, teachers and educators who would like to learn more about effective communication and parenting skills. This is not meant for children/teens. Please do not bring them to the event. (Childcare will be kindly provided by the temple as a courtesy for those who need it.)
- The performance offers novel and engaging intervention through live theater, open discussion and real time feedback from psychiatrists.
- Promote a sense of community and address mental health stigma in Asian communities.

NOTES
- This workshop is a collaboration between Hsi Lai Temple and Standford CHIPAO.
- All performers are amateurs (psychiatrists, real teens and parents). Some vignettes are done in English and others are done in Mandarin.
