Lai Temple Earthquake Safety Drill Notice

Working Together for Earthquake Preparedness and Safety

To enhance public safety and our emergency response capabilities, Hsi Lai Temple will conduct an Earthquake Safety Drill tomorrow afternoon. During the drill, we will simulate evacuation and emergency response procedures. Visitors and devotees are kindly requested to cooperate with our monastics and staff to help create a safe environment for everyone.

📅 Drill Information

• Date: Friday, August 21, 2026
• Time: 2:00 PM – 2:30 PM
• Location: Throughout the temple grounds (including the Main Shrine, front and rear halls, and plaza)

📋 Instructions for Visitors and Devotees

Follow Instructions

• When the drill alarm sounds, please remain calm and follow staff guidance.
• Immediately practice "Drop, Cover, and Hold On" in place.

Orderly Evacuation

• When the evacuation instruction is given, follow staff to designated safe zones (such as the temple plaza).
• Please do not push, run, or rush.

Temporary Suspension of Services

• Incense-lighting, lamp-lighting services, and worship in the temple halls will be suspended for approximately 15–20 minutes during the drill.
• Normal services will resume immediately after the drill concludes.
